Heck, college opened up my eyes. Like you said in HS pot was about all you ever saw or heard of. I really never thought I would see crack or acid to be honest with you.
I noticed in the obits yesterday a friend of HS had died, and I heard she has OD'd and spent the last couple of years strung out for the most part. Its truly sad.
Maybe I was just with the wrong (or right, depending on your POV) crowd in high school, but I never heard anything about drug use.
Sure, everyone and their brother drank like fishes, but no drugs. I'm sure they were there, but I didn't know about it.
The only time I seen or heard of whippits was senior week down at myrtle beach. But weed was the only drug you heard about in highschool. Well with the people I hung out with lol. Like Ironlung said it made stupid for a few hours. Maybe it was just me and my so called clique of friends. Anyways that was highschool and I'm sure most everybody did some sort drug or another.
I am with you there Shoe, Beer, Dope, and Speed was the only drugs I saw or was offered in school. I am sure most of the other stuff was there but I guess I wasn't cool enought to get them offered to me.
There are 2 kinds of people...those who say they have tried pot and those that lie and say they haven't.
They need to legalize the weed. It doesn't have to be processed like alcohol and drugs...just cut and dried. The tax dollars off of its sale would be enough to pay for programs that we currently can't fund in our nation. The folks sittin in jail pullin time for selling or manufacturing weed could be released taking away another tax burden. All in all, if pot were legalized it would be of far greater benefit to us than it is with it being illegal.
Well, not everyone has tried pot. Most have I agree. I did in college, but hadn't before then.
Never tried it myself. Never wanted to try it.

Back in the day I loved the stuff...it's nothing like smoking a cigarette elp6n, I remember it as being much better than anything i ever tried...people don't overdose from pot or anything like that...the govt is sitting on a gold mine if they ever do legalize and tax it...they could sell it so cheap as to put the criminal elements out of business and still make a profit. Most folks won't touch the subject cuz of it's reputation and social sitgma; and pols won't touch it cuz it would be political suicide for them...but still, i think we as a nation need to free the weed.
Gosh, showing my age here, but a cigarette and a beer was all I was ever offered. I didn't try to beer part until after high school. Still try one on occasion. Also love Cigars and good pipe tobacco.
I've only been around pot one time. At a week-long class for work. I was hanging out with a few guys from Abingdon. They pulled out the weed, I slowly backed out of the room.
I do know people who use on a regular basis, but I try not to go around those people if I can help it.
